Welcome to the Manchester Coach Rambles - A Manchester Walking Group
Manchester Coach Rambles is an active and environmentally friendly walking group organising walks by Coach from Manchester.
Together with the Manchester Area Ramblers and the Ramblers Affiliated group, Manchester Associates Rambling Club, there is on offer a walk using the Coach or Public Transport every Sunday throughout the year. All walks are led by experienced volunteer walk leaders.
Members of The Ramblers and non members are welcome on all the walks. To join The Ramblers see the Membership page for details. So if you are free on Sundays and want to spend a full day in the countryside enjoying the views and making friends along the way, come and join us.
The Coach Excursions and the Public Transport Walks from Manchester are organised as follows :-
1. Manchester Coach Rambles Group run a Coach Excursion every fortnightly on Sundays throughout the year to the best destinations for walks in the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, North Yorks Moors, North Wales, Staffordshire, Shropshire, Lancashire and Derbyshire. 2. The Manchester Area Ramblers run the Public Transport Walks 'Sunday Strolls' from Manchester on the Sundays when there is not a Coach Excursion. Sunday walks details are on Public Transport Walks page. Also every Wednesday there are on offer a longer walk (up to 10 miles) and a shorter walk (not exceeds 8 miles) in and around Manchester. The main aims of the Manchester Coach Rambles Group, The Manchester Area Ramblers and The Manchester Associates Rambling Club are to:-
- Promote walking
- Preserve our Rights of Way
- Avoid using private transport and Promote public transport
- Enjoy the countryside
- Support local businesses
